Replacement quartz tube.
This part will never wear out. It’s made out of stainless steel and quartz glass. But it can crack if your machine drops from a high surface or is thrown down hard to the ground.
If your quartz tube cracks (not covered via warranty) Or you don’t want to send it in and to have us replace it (you pay shipping both ways and $22 for the part). Or you just want to have a spare tube available in case things go sideways in the future (Armageddon or we go out of business). You can purchase a spare one. (One extra quartz tube for every unit you purchased from us).
How the Replacement Quartz Tube Fits Your Machine
This is the same 10g quartz tube used in our quartz tube ozone generators, held in place with stainless steel straps. Quartz glass and stainless steel do not wear out with normal use, and unlike ceramic plates, quartz tubes do not shed nano-metals. (Ceramic plate electrodes wear down with use; patent US 6,024,930 notes the metal electrodes can vaporize in high heat.) See Quartz Tube vs Ceramic Plate for why we switched.
The tube can crack if a machine is dropped or thrown down hard, and that is not covered by warranty. A spare lets you swap it yourself instead of shipping the unit in.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many spare tubes can I buy when I purchase my first unit?
When you buy your first unit, you can add one extra quartz tube for every unit you purchase from us. After you buy your first unit, you can continue to buy replacement quartz tubes as needed.
Can the tube wear out over time?
No. Glass and stainless steel are ozone proof and will last forever (hence the name Forever Ozone). What does need maintenance, depending on how often the unit is used, are the wires that connect to the tube, because they can corrode over time. If you notice your unit is producing less ozone than before, unplug it first, then cut the red wires, strip them, and slide them under the mesh in a different spot. Put a dab of silicone over the spot where the wire touches the mesh to help slow down corrosion in the future.
Will it fit the Large Room Quartz Tube Ozone Generator?
It is the 10g tube used in our 10g quartz tube units. If you are unsure which tube your machine uses, contact Mike before ordering.
Is a cracked tube covered by warranty?
No. Cracks from drops are not covered, which is why many customers keep a spare.
